Anti-factor Xa (Rivaroxaban, Xarelto)

60.00 BGN

Anti-factor Xa is a test that monitors the effect of applied anticoagulant therapy, depending on the anticoagulant used – low molecular weight heparins (LMWH), ultra-fractionated heparins (UFH) or direct oral anticoagulants.

Heparin is an anticoagulant – a drug that inhibits blood clotting.

Xarelto belongs to a group of medicines called antithrombotic agents. Through its action, it blocks a blood clotting factor (factor Xa) and thus reduces the blood’s tendency to form clots. Xarelto contains the active substance rivaroxaban and is used in adults to treat blood clots in the veins of your legs (deep vein thrombosis) and in the blood vessels of your lungs (pulmonary embolism) and to prevent them from forming again in the blood vessels of your legs and/or or in the lungs.

Treatment of the individual patient should be evaluated regularly by weighing the risk of ischemic events against the risk of bleeding. A decision to continue treatment should be made by a specialist, based on the individual patient’s condition.
