Anemia is a common cause of fatigue and lack of tone. Along with the routine complete blood count and iron tests, we also offer you a test for Thalassemia, the most common type of anemia.

Thalassemias are a heterogeneous group of hereditary anemias that occur as a result of insufficient synthesis or absence of one or more globin polypeptide chains in the hemoglobin molecule. Often the mild form of Thalassemia remains undiagnosed, and this can be dangerous for the offspring in the case of two parents carrying the disease.

If the results are of concern to you, we advise you to additionally have the following tests done: Erythrocyte Morphology, Ferritin, Transferrin, Vitamin B12 and Total Bilirubin.
