Insulin – twice (0 and 120 min)

34.00 BGN

Studies of insulin levels at 0 and 120 minutes play a crucial role in assessing the body’s insulin response following food intake or during an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). Insulin at 0 minutes indicates the insulin level in the blood before glucose or food intake, representing the baseline or fasting insulin concentration. Insulin at 120 minutes reflects the insulin level in the blood 2 hours after glucose or food intake, providing insight into how the body responds to glucose and how effectively it is converted into energy or stored in cells. Research on insulin at 0 and 120 minutes is frequently used in evaluating metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, as well as in the study of metabolic syndromes and insulin resistance. Elevated insulin levels following a glucose challenge test are typically associated with insulin resistance and represent a risk factor for the development of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
